Event Description

This family farm in McHenry County grows 450 acres of corn, soybeans, and Christmas trees, but dedicates 28 acres each year to what they bill as the world's largest corn maze. The theme this year is the presidential election, with an elephant and a donkey forming part of the 11 twisting miles of trail to, well, the U.S. Capitol building. The maze--designed on a computer and tilled with GPS guidance--is in small sections dotted with checkpoints with quiz questions and contains several entrance and exit points. A 50-foot observation tower allows an overview, and there are late-night flashlight forays. Last admission to the farm is two hours prior to closing time. The farm also boasts a 50-foot slide, concession barn, picnic area, and other rural attractions. $7-$9.50, kids under 5 free
