Any Tips on making fleece socks ?

I printed off directions & a pattern for making fleece socks. I'm planning on giving these out for Christmas gifts this year so about 14 maybe more if I can find enough fleece to repurpose. Except for the thread & the anti slide rubber dot material for the soles I will be using fabric that had a previous life such as children's old fleece pull overs and fleece throws.

I am thinking about adding a few extra layers of t-shirt material between the bottom outside sole & the inside fleece sole for added warmth & stablity.

Anyone out there that has expirence with making these socks ? any tips or suggestions ?
