Celebrate the culture of agriculture & share skills (Growing! Cooking! Eating!)

Hi All,

I need some sound advice and I realize every bee keeper has their own opinion on this subject.  Which is a better bee hive one made of Western Cedar or on made of Pine?  Thanks all

I chatted with a rep from Walter t kelly and she said the bees don't prefer cedar because of the scent. But many people get a cedar bottom board because it lasts longer. At my bee seminar this weekend in Nashville and it was suggested to go with pine and paint it with primer first.
