I am trying to find an alternative way to heat my small greenhouse during the winter so that I can continue to grow veggies, herbs, etc.  I have tried electric heaters and electricty is proving to be very expensive.  We have had below 0 temps at night.  Do any of you have any suggestions as to using solar or wind to run a small heater during the winter?

Costco recently had solar units that would have run a small heater or something like it for under $100.00... I thought about buying one. lol Have you tried using low tunnel row covers? I have friends in very cold places that have had success with those over greenhouses in extreme cold.

I don't think solar is would work, electric heat is pretty inefficient. Lots of people put Rocket Mass Heaters in their greenhouses.
