Hi! I'm working on turning my yard into a garden at my new house (bought in July!) here in Colorado Springs! I'm really happy to discover I have pretty good soil for being in this area, my soil where I was living before we bought the house was all sand!

Anyway, this is my first year gardening in the GROUND, as opposed to using big containers, so this will definitely be different for me! But I'm excited!

Soil not draining well... I'd think adding some sand in would help with that. Sandy soil drains faster than others, so that's what I'd try first I guess.

Been updating the blog as I go, staying busy! Got my brussel sprouts and my leeks planted inside this week, and planned out the garden area as well. Good stuff. :) http://bekajoi.livejournal.com/
