HOMEGROWN

Celebrate the culture of agriculture & share skills (Growing! Cooking! Eating!)

I'm in the process of trying to grow my blog from something that I feel is pretty amateurish into something more professional to support my recently growing readership.  I'd love to have meaningful discussions/constructive criticism from anyone in the group.  Let's learn from each other!

The great thing about blogging is that you can take it as far as you like and learn at your own pace.

In the coming months you will have lots of decisions to make regarding blogging.

If you decide that you want to write professionally, it might be in your best interest to join a writers group such as contentwritersforum.com.

Blogger is a one of the best free platforms, so you are off to a good start. Some bloggers eventually move up to a self-hosted blog with their own domain, but even if you make that choice at some point, your original blog may still be an asset.

As your project grows, search engine traffic may become more and more important. If that is the case, it will be necessary to learn more about search engine optimization, keyword research and other issues.

I will look forward to reading your blog.

Thanks so much for your reply... sorry it's taken me so long to respond, but Hurricane Irene threw my life into chaos last week!

Same here Shara, and it wrecked my garden as well.

:(

Hey Shira! I checked out your blog last night and really enjoyed the posts.
