Celebrate the culture of agriculture & share skills (Growing! Cooking! Eating!)

In one work- sucky. I got busy with some other issues, and next I know my plot is full of miscellaneous weeds. So thick that most of the seedlings had already died out. I did, however, get an awesome cherry tomato harvest, and plenty of herbs. It was really dry here, and it figures it finally got decently rainy after it was too late.

That said, my dad's stuff did great and he's only out at the farm once a week! Who knows, but he had loads of beautiful produce!

I would use much the same word! I did 6 4'X4' square foot garden boxed last year. I planted tons of different stuff and it started out okay from what I could tell but I didn't get much from it. The flowers did alright especially the sunflowers on the side of the house but the most prolific was the grass :( We got 3 or 4 zucchini, a soup bowl full each of tomatoes and green beans, a kids sized bowl of strawberries, a big serving bowl of lettuces and a couple really small carrots, lots of cilantro and some usable chives. That's out of 8 squares corn, 8 squares green beans, 5 tomato plants (after replacing the four that died), 16 squares strawberries, 8 squares lettuces, 6 squares beets, 6 or 7 different herbs, 1 jalapeno, 1 bell pepper, 1 watermelon, 1 cucumber, 1 acorn squash, 1 pie pumpkin, 1 charentais melon, 1 zucchini, zs8 squares of 2 varieties of carrot, 4 squares spinach.
