Celebrate the culture of agriculture & share skills (Growing! Cooking! Eating!)

Hey everyone,

Just thought I would let everyone know that you now can make homemade baked goods in your kitchen and sell them from home or at Farmers Markets.  The rules are that they must be labeled with all ingredients.  The label must read :MADE IN A HOME KITCHEN NOT INSPECTED BY THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF
AGRICULTURE

You must earn less than $15000 per year doing this.  If You go to Michigan.gov all the information is in a PDF there.  It is a great opportunity for homesteaders interested in trying before putting the money into a commercial kitchen.   Once you hit the magic number of $15000 you will be required to put in the commercial kitchen but a great opportunity for those who want to try.  Just thought I would pass this information along to all my homegrown michigan friends.

Thanks, that is good to know! They just opened a new market out on Telegraph Rd in Flat Rock where the old K-Mart/FoodTown was. Maybe I can give it a try one Saturday!
That is a great idea. Thank you so much for sharing the link!
