HOME Cooked: Winter Recipes

With many farm shares winding down for the season—alas, summer squash, we knew you well—we’ve put the CSA Cookoff to bed for the year. Look for it again in late spring, sprouting along with the arugula and asparagus. In the meantime, meet HOME Cooked, a winter-friendly recipe file that revels in the earthier corners of the fridge and the pantry. Think root veggies. And crispy cabbages. And baked goods. We’ll post a recipe each week, and we’ll be trolling HOMEGROWN for dishes from you. Don’t be shy. Share the goods. Especially the baked goods.

Just a few first food purée ideas for baby. I'm trying hard to guarantee a full organic diet for the little man but some thing's are hard to come by in the stores and in season. But here is a few ideas to introduce new tastes to ensure a baby who'll love food as much as I do.
Black beans, cilantro and cumin. Sweet potato, apple and carrot. Brown rice, cinnamon, banana. Butternut squash, pear, nutmeg, apple. Avocado and banana. Brown rice with r. W. Knudsen blueberry pomegranate juice.
I'm interested if anyone has other suggestions for homemade baby food ideas.

Angela: What awesome combinations. I vote for these being adult flavor combos, too! As for more suggestions for homemade baby food ideas, you might want to join the Recipe Sharing group and/or the Earth Mamas and Papas group and start discussions there. I bet you'll find some like-minded folks! Just give me a yell if you have any questions about how to do that.
