I used grommets and wall hooks to attached the plastic to the raised bed

wow, that's an awesome idea! where did you get grommets for plastic? i built hoops over my beds this last spring and had a bugger of a time figuring out the ends. do you think those grommets would hold in a windstorm? we get some pretty heavy duty wind here...

i found them at home depot - next to the sun shade kits. after I put these up we had some serious wind storms, 40-50mph. The bed pictured has 6 mil plastic and was completely unharmed. I used 4 mil plastic on another bed and it's starting to tear around a few of the grommets.

I had trouble with the ends as well, I just left enough plastic to reach the ground and place a cement block on it. Works great and I can pull them back to increase airflow when it's nice. Winter in Austin goes from 80 one day to 30 the next.
