New Entry Sustainable Farming Project, the parent organization of my CSA, World Peas (well, technically speaking, it's a food hub), hosted an open farms tour last Thursday evening in Dracut, Massachusetts. The other attendees and I had a chance to talk to four of the farmers participating in New Entry's incubator program and to see their quarter-acre plots of land, where some of the chard and squash and blueberries I receive in my farm share each week comes from. New Entry is a pretty fantastic organization, with efforts supporting both new farmers, many of them immigrants, and eaters, so it was a real treat to learn more about their work. And that's not even counting the snacks they served us afterward. See more photos of the tour and of World Peas' weekly farm share.
