A bit about me:
I'm a curriculum writer and lecturer in the fields of Physical Education and Kinesiology. My wife is a Registered Dietician and we are passionate about local, whole food balanced with an active lifestyle. My favorite way to stay in shape is to grow stuff. My favorite thing to grow is hot peppers to be turned into mouth watering hot sauce.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Homemade Mac and Cheese with green-bean casserole. Of course topped with homemade hot sauce.

What stuff means...

Last Summer it appeared that my mom had fought and beat lung cancer. In February of 2011 she was in intensive care at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. Doctors told us that she was, "holding on to the edge of a cliff."  I stayed with her for several days, sleeping in a recliner and praying. I asked God to give her more time. I just wanted to see her in the garden one more time. We had plans. Greenhouse plans. Seeds in the dirt plans.

Perfecting the Formula

January 25, 2012. Andrea and I worked on perfecting the Hot Sauce recipe. We gave a call to Cornell Food Science and have begun the process of making sure we're doing everything the right way.

In 3 weeks we'll send our formula over to the good people at Cornell and they'll analyze the ph, check the shelf-life, and rate our overall performance (with respect to food safety).

The Journey Begins

I'm full of crazy ideas. Anyone in my family will vouch for that.

 

Here's my latest. Locally hand-crafted hot sauce. Okay - maybe it's not 100% original, but definately crazy.
