A bit about me:

I am a mama, a partner, and an aspiring domestic diva. I look at grocery shopping and cooking as a giant game of truth or dare. My partner and I are getting into our first battle with veggie gardening and furthering our quest to be as self reliant as possible.

Latest greatest meal cooked at home:

We made black bean burgers this week with fresh crumbs made from my homemade whole wheat sourdough and homemade corn bread. The beans we canned ourselves. We roasted mushrooms, peppers and onions and made a sauce of nutritional yeast and other various delights. Ahhhhamzing. Also made apple butter for the first time last weekend!

I am always listening to something different. My staples are modern rockabilly, classic folk and Neil Diamond. Always Neil Diamond.

My latest DIY project:

I am teaching myself to sew this year. I have spent the last week focusing on making menstrual pads. The goal is to perfect the stitching and design so i can make some to donate to the WIC program in our town along with cloth diapers. My partner is also working on our raised bed garden and compost heap, and a terrarium for lizards with our daughter who is 6.
