What kind of HOMEGROWN are you?: Earth Mama, Dirt Under My Fingernails City Slicker

A bit about me:: I am just a suburban mom trying to go green and simplify my life. I love to garden, go organic whenever I can afford it, and cook from scratch as much as possible. I am the Chair of the Environmental Committee at my kids school.

Latest greatest meal cooked at home:: not a meal, but an appetizer...blueberry salsa. It was for a pool party I went to and it was delicious!

Currently reading:: I killed a Penguin

Currently listening to:: Depends on my mood...alternative, classic rock, country, and just about everything. Don't care for jazz all that much.

My latest DIY project:: building some raised beds for the garden.

Blueberry Salsa

We are in the height of blueberry season here in Georgia. I have been getting some off my bushes this year. (whatever the birds leave me!) I am also finding North Carolina blueberries at 2 pints for $3.00 so I have been stocking up. Here is a good recipe from the July edition of Southern Living for blueberry salsa. I was a little unsure when I made it but it tasted heavenly and everyone at the pool party…
