Fill in the blank:

A bit about me:
I have a blog on growing vegetables and giant vegetables on http://giantveggiegardener.com that I would like to share with homegrown.org folk.
I am a Master Gardener living in Santa Fe, New Mexico where the growing season is short, the altitude is 7000 feet high, the soil very alkaline, miserably hard and lacking organic materials. It is considered to be a high desert but is located at the base of the Sangre De Cristos mountains and below a ski area. It is in a Zone 5 growing season. So to say it is challenging growing things here is an understatement. I am an organic grower who practices sustainable growing techniques.
I want to share my 25 years of growing experience and knowledge with the public. I’m no expert, but I’d like to share what I’ve learned and picked up through the years as well as share this season’s gardening as it unfolds.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Giant Pumpkin Soup
Currently reading:
Four-Season Harvest by Elliot Coleman
Currently listening to:
Talking Heads
My latest DIY project:
Finished my cold frame. Working on a greenhouse.

I already learned Mozzarella last year and wanted to learn how to make Feta too as I like both these cheeses with tomatoes in the summer. I make a traditional…

Pasta Making 101

PASTA MAKING 101

What does making homemade pasta got to do with gardening? Nothing! But a gardener’s got to do something in the dead of winter and I wanted to try out that new pasta machine that I got for a birthday gift in June. I thought it would be a great compliment to my homemade spaghetti sauce that I canned…

Giant Veggie Gardener

I'm new to Homegrown and would like to share my knowledge and experience for those interested in growing veggies and gain information from you all as well! I'm a Master Gardener and call myself an 'Artisan Farmer' because I grow organic vegetables and fruits using sustainable methods on about a 1/2 of an acre (even though I live on 6.5 acres). It's not really a full fledge…
