Cube Farmer, Convenience Store Culinarian, Dirt Under My Fingernails City Slicker
A bit about me:
I write a blog about local, sustainable, organic food. Here's a blurb from our "about" page:
I eat too much, and not always the stuff that’s good for me. I do not always make the right choices. I weigh at least 20 pounds too much. I once went to the dentist because I sprained my jaw eating gummy worms.
Still, I know that food should make our lives better, healthier, funner, and more social. The best food is often the most local and the least processed, regardless of fat content, calories, or supplemental nutrients. The way our culture views food says a lot about what we value, and I want my food choices to say I value health, community, time, and money.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Hamburgers made with locally raised, grass-fed Minnesota beef and locally raised eggs.
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle and Fast Food Nation (again!)
Currently listening to:
Morrissey, Wynton Marsalis, Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg, Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, Dexter Gordon, Lou Reed
My latest DIY project:
The blog http://simplegoodandtasty.com, growing my own yard farm, and organizing dinner for 35 local food lovers at one of Minneapolis best, localest restaurants.
