A bit about me:
I have been a culinarian for a number of years which led me to an interest in food "politics". A few years back I dove head first into local food culture, searching out as many sources close to my home to obtain fresh and quality ingredients. Most recently I have become interested and active in traditional and "real" food culture.
My husband and I bought our first home 3 years ago and this summer will have our 4th and (hopefully) best garden. We use the square foot gardening method and each year expand and tweek our gardening space so that we can enjoy it's benefits throughout the year. I am super passionate about "putting up" for the winter and this year my goal is to have enough stored away so that I do not have to buy a single vegetable during the deep winter months aside from what I can source locally.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Indian spiced, yogurt (homemade, raw milk) marinated Leg of lamb with mint spiced baby potatoes and sambar masala cauliflower. This was Christmas dinner. With the leftovers we made Emperor's Fragrant Pilaf (Julie Sahni). Both were pretty darn good!

My latest DIY project:
Completely changed out all of my beauty products for homemade. This is an ongoing project but am having a blast formulating and concocting.
Myself, working on rebuilding myself from the inside out.

Probiotic Coleslaw

It's a dreary, cold and rainy day here in South Jersey so I felt like bringing a little summer life into my kitchen.  I decided, after finding a gem of a pork shoulder at my local butcher, to make slow cooker pulled pork with carolina mustard bbq sauce, roasted potato salad with bacon vinaigrette and my probiotic coleslaw.  I had a quarter head of cabbage in my fridge…
