I have just jumped in with both feet starting a CSA on 1.5 acres of my 14 acre urban ranch just outside of Dallas, TX. I host a 2x month local/sustainable-organic farmers only market day at my organic garden shop on the farm grounds.
I have opened up 8000+ square feet of land for a community garden where so far about 8 families are represented.
My goal is to make good, healthy, safe and locally grown food available and affordable to anyone who really wants to obtain it. Working shares, community garden and bartering are ways I hope to reach out to those who wouldn't ordinarily think they could afford to eat organically. It shouldn't be cheaper to grab a sack of junk food than to eat well.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Home made pasta sauce with locally grown organic peppers, zukes, free-range chicken, and fresh herbs, fresh cukes on the side with a hunk of home made fresh organic sourdough Italian bread made by one of my local market day producers and green tea! YUMMY!
