Fill in the blank:
Getting back to basics
A bit about me:
I live in Verona, WI. I have 2 daughters and 1 husband. We share 10 wooded acres with 2 dogs, 13 hens, 1 rooster and 1 horse (hope 1 more this summer). I love to garden and am learning to can. My family and I try to be a little more self reliant and want to focus on living a good more "homegrown" life, by making an effort to buy local and getting to know our land and ourselves aong the way.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
I made a wonderful lamb shanks dish in my favorite dutch oven.
Currently reading:
Game of Thrones series
Currently listening to:
TV & Radio: the MIC, Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes,Rachel Maddow
Avettt Bros, Paolo Nutini, Mumford and Sons, monsters and Men, The Black Keys and way to many more to mention
My latest DIY project:
My husband and I ( I helped) built a chicken coop.
This spring we will build our horse and hay barn.

Hi, Natalie. Welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I'm the flock tender here (site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content). I’m so glad you found us! I’ll have to thank Cindy for bringing us together. We love getting our HOMEGROWN mitts on moms who love good food! I hope you’ll find plenty of projects and ideas here to spur you on, and I hope you’ll be game for sharing some of your own, too—like that lamb shank recipe (hint, hint)—in our member blog, The Stew. And come to think of it, I bet I’m not the only HOMEGROWN member who would like to read along as you build the horse and hay barn this spring. Just a thought. Elsewhere on HOMEGROWN, you can always find the latest additions to the site at the top of the homepage, and if you’ve ever got questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. I hope you feel right at home!
