A bit about me:

Singer songwriter Marcus Guy was raised in an artistic family both of his parents being fine artists, his father a sculptor and his mother a painter. Having artists for parents that were also part of the beat generation gave Marcus and his six siblings an extraordinary opportunity to meet artists from many diverse disciplines including music.

Marcus has been a blue collar worker his entire life and knows first hand the struggles that working men and women live with every day and those men and women often show up in his songs. He went to work for the railroad in 1978 and after three years of shift work and transfers he was finally no longer able to hold a job on the railroad, so he picked up and moved his young family from their Ohio home to West Texas where he worked as an electrician for five years. In 1983 he met Lloyd Maines who produced a couple of demo songs for Marcus at Caldwell Studios in Lubbock Texas and it was Lloyd who convinced him that he had a real talent as a songwriter. Marcus went back to work for the railroad as a signalman in 1985 in Massachusetts and continues to work for the railroad and write songs today in upstate New York where he lives with his wife Betty.
