Earth Mama, Dirt Under My Fingernails City Slicker
Fill in the blank:
GROW-COOK-SHARE
A bit about me:
I currently co-own a local clothing boutique here in Memphis. I am working on building a nonprofit organization with my friend Jayne called Garden Grit that teaches communities to GROW-COOK-SHARE their food. I eat local and shop local. My husband and I are food and labor activists who believe the people can rise above poverty and crime through farming and cooking. I also started a locavore culinary club that meets once a month. So far I have 7 couples involved.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Well.... my own creation, Clementine's Smokey Mountain Pimiento Cheese, is always in high demand. But, just last night I used the skillet to fire up some red, yellow, and orange peppers with white onion and portabellas flavored with some herbs and sea salt. I placed all that on top of some angel hair with a creamy vodka sauce. The left over peppers and portabellas will be used today to make a sandwich on ciabatta bread with goat cheese and pesto :)

Yeeehaw! Welcome to HOMEGROWN!! Wendi, it sounds like you're doing SO many interesting things - I want to hear more. Please consider sharing more about your nonprofit and your supper club in member blogs. The supper club sounds like something that folks here could be inspired by - they might just start their own!
So glad you found the site - enjoy!
