Dirt Under My Fingernails City Slicker
A bit about me:
Our new home is in New Mexico on .07 acres of sand and clay. We have 3 chickens and a quest to turn our sandlot into an oasis using ecological gardening/permaculture techniques. The house has been a big project as we purchased it without electricity or walls. When I'm not pounding nails or dreaming of the garden you can find me with my husband riding bikes to the co-op or on Albuquerque's many car-free bike paths.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Fried eggplant with fresh tomato/basil sauce; roasted summer squash; local green salad; cheddar-basil biscuits and prickly pear juice. The tastes of summer!

Hi Amy
Glad to hear from you. I am just figuring this site out, just put a few pictures in for the 1st time early this morning. The picture you were asking about, are mule deer, we have alot of them here in GreatFalls Mt. My family and I just returned back home in Sept, after living in Ak for a year in ahalf.
It's so nice to be back & in our own home. I can garden here, lots of sunshine going on, compared to Ketchikan Ak. I have some projects just starting up here on the home front, it'll be fun sharing them with everyone.
Thank you for the reply Amy.

She may also have worms? It might not hurt to get some wormer from the feed store, and treat her.

Thanks Amy,

I very much appreciate you comments about the book.  It always makes me feel good when someone thinks it is valuable to them.

Amy - you left a comment on my page, which I had completely forgotten I had.  This is not something I visit, ever, and that's too bad.  I love your page and all the stuff on it.  You asked what I teach - and right now I am not teaching anything.  I was teaching adult ESL and Citizenship for UNM Continuing Ed., but think I am retired from that now.  But, you never know, they may call me this fall and ask me to teach a course.  I am teaching a class for Continuing Ed. this fall, one of my own devising - called Going Vegan Without Going Nuts.  We'll see if anyone signs up.

You also asked how I like Safran-Foer's book, Eating Animals.  It is a life-changer, gotta warn you.  Terrific book, I loved it.
