Celebrate the culture of agriculture & share skills (Growing! Cooking! Eating!)

Selling your house is a big decision, selling your homestead, HUGE. From my first raised bed, the wild lettuce growing where grass once grew, and the big backyard remodel, I have enjoyed the time we have lived here.

Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be happier with our plans to move. We relocated to the outer reaches of Austin to be close to my previous employer - being 10 minutes away is a great commute. With my new employer, I'm working downtown and it didn't take long for the hour commute home to drive me absolutely insane, pun intended.

Another big Homesteading change in this move is that we will be shifting from home owners to renters. I look forward to the new challenges of homesteading in accordance with a landlord, but from what I've seen in Austin, this won't be too hard.

I'll miss my gardens, but I hope they inspire the next owners to continue and expand the Homestead. But future owners be warned, I'm taking my Goji!

Oh, man! I know how much work you and the family have put into your homestead, so that is tough, but the tradeoffs sound WELL worth it. My least favorite part of my day is the time I spend commuting. Start diving behind Chinese restaurants now - those big buckets are great for transplanting! :)
