Sticker Shock - $3.99 for a box of crackers!?

Went to a local grocery store to pick up a few things to go with my fish salad and had sticker shock!! $3.99 for a box of no name crackers!!!! Came home, took 2 cups of whole wheat flour, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/3 cup of olive oil, 2/3 cup of warm water, mixed rolled out dough on a baking sheet, cut with pizza cutter, baked @400deg F for 15 minutes. Total time: 30 minutes start to finish, or less time than going to the grocery store. Wife loved them and wants more. Need to roll thinner across the center of the pan next time. Anyone have some cracker recipes to share??

Dr. John! Farm Aid staffer Kari shared this recipe for homemade crackers that's a good way to use up whatever cheese scraps or herbs you have lying around. Curious to see others' recipes, too!

Thank you for the link Jennifer. Definitely on my radar for this weekend's brunch. Looking forward to the lavender gin drink as well!! :-) Making Scottish Oat crackers(biscuits) along with mead braised 5 spice steak this round.

I'll have to try this with plain flour and vegetable oil, since that's what I've got. The Always Save brand crackers around here are still 99cents, though.
