I'm afraid it is pretty basic. I cannot eat yoghurt...milk products have too much iodine for my allergic old self; I make it for my husband. I use a greek yoghurt as a starter and leave it plain. People can embellish on their own with lemon curd or homemade jams. We are a corn syrup free household.
Hi Caroline! Honestly, it was with a lump in my throat that I came to HG.org this morning after being away for so long. I was worried that it may be a sad place with the random tumbleweed blowing through. I can now see that my trepidation was unnecessary - I'm truly touched - you've taken such lovely care of the place. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
See you Monday. xo, C
Hey there! Just checked my comments. Oops you wrote a long time ago. I am just now getting back to Homegrown and finding my way around the site. Already I am greatly enjoying it! Thank you for the welcome!!
Thanks for the welcome! As for snow...some of the drifts are higher than the tops of our door frame! I'm starting some seeds indoors right now as an attempt to remind myself that spring will be here soon. I'm a little worried about my worms that are outside (in a tote farm and under a crude shelter)...but I'm not quite worried enough to wade through waist-deep snow to find out for sure! Here's hoping!
Thanks very much Caroline! This looks like a great community! The snow melted a bit today on the roof and the winter plants we are growing on the steps in the sunlight were definitely happy about that (Tomatos and red peppers).
Thank you for the great welcome. I am waiting for spring to show itself here in PA. There are a lot of things I am looking foward to, in our garden this year. I want to start working toward growing herloom veggies.
Thanks for welcoming me... about a month ago. :) I've finally added some lobster pictures, a seafood discussion and will be adding a recipe or two next! Hope people are interested in learning about "homegrown," locally caught, Maine seafood!
Hi there -- nope, I don't work for NOFA-NY. It was the Brooklyn Food Coalition that alerted me to NOFA-NY's Locavore Month Challenge on Twitter. I did something similar years ago, so I'm looking forward to giving it another go.
