Hi Andrew - thrilled to have you here! Your adventure ahead sounds so exciting and I'm looking forward to following it. Please feel free to cross-post to the member blogs here. There are some how-tos on your Idle Acres site (cob oven, growing collards, etc.) that would make a wonderful addition to our HOMEGROWN 101s for the newbies out there. Let me know what you think of including some of those. You're an inspiration!
Looks like you have some good projects going. I am pretty far from where i would like to be with the garden but i am hopeing to expand next year. i am getting ready to install hoops over the raised beds to try growing micro greens this winter.

I am excited to check out your tiny revolution page. My family and I are trapped in the "how did we get all thsi shit and why do we have it" world. We often talk of down sizeing. We live 3 hours from any of our family and have 2 dogs and a 4 year old. We just don't see how to do it at this point.

I will read that, thak you. I am sure there is a middle ground between going full into that life and where we are now tripping over each other and rapidly filling almost 2000 sq ft. We have many friends that we use to measure our success against and are finaly getting to the place that we are not as concerned with what they are doing and turning the focus on our lives and what we want to do for our health and mental wellbeing and that of our son. Having a child can really change your outlook on what is improtant. We are just now at about to the point that we are making everything we eat at home from scratch. I love good food and love to cook so it is cheaper than going our to eat! Fortunatly we are having great luck buying local.

They were both honey with about 1/4 cup of wheat germ. I made one just honey and the other with crushed pecans, dried cranberries and dried cherries...the later was the favorite, toasted with a smear of honey butter...oh yea!
Hiya Drew......oh, i'm around (you don't see all my posts on Facebook?!)......i've been spending the past few weeks building the greenhouse and getting it operational enough to start seeds.......nice to hear from you :)
