I am a knitter, a spinner, a bread baker, a weaver, a gardener and a cat lover. My husband and I are trying to make our city lot into a homestead…slowly.
We are having fun turning our 1/4 acre lot into as close to a farm as we can in town. We have chickens and meat rabbits now I just need to convince the city to let me have a goat...or a sheep...I would take either...or both.

Hi, Cindy. Welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I'm the flock tender here (site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content). I’m so glad you found us—and I love that you’ve been so busy on the site already! I used to live in Chicago and am a big, big, big fan of Madison. And sounds like you and your husband are making awesome strides toward turning it into an even more awesome city. I hope you’ll find plenty of projects and ideas here to spur you on, and I hope you’ll be game for sharing some of your own, too—like the recipe for your spicy plum chutney (hint, hint)—in our member blog, The Stew. Elsewhere on the site, you can always find the latest additions at the top of the homepage, and if you’ve ever got questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. I hope you feel right at home!
