Hi, Dean. Welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I'm the flock tender here: site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content. I’m so glad you found us! And I love your profile photo—how debonair! I hope you’ll find plenty of projects and ideas here to spur you on, and I hope you’ll be game for sharing some of your own, too—maybe some photos of that container garden, once you’ve got it planted—in our member blog, The Stew. Elsewhere on HOMEGROWN, you can always find the latest additions to the site at the top of the homepage, and if you’ve ever got questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. I hope you feel right at home!

Dean: Good to hear from you—and thanks for the book recommendation. Has work taken you on your travels from Mexico to Upstate New York? Glad you're here!

Dean: That's a question I've been asking myself, as well. My tomatoes haven't grown an inch in the last week. I'm not growing that variety this year, but I grew jet stars last year and found them to be a really nice all-purpose tomato. If they can get a little sun, that is. Your travels and travel writing sound lovely—as does a yard full of lemon, lime, and avocado trees. And speaking of New York, you may have seen, but that's where our big sister Farm Aid is headed this September for its annual concert. We might have a small HOMEGROWN get-together. I'll keep you posted, if you're interested.

Dean: How cool that your daughter is working at SPAC this summer! Our own intern for the last six months is a Saratoga-area resident and current college student. Maybe they know each other! On a semirelated note, I sent you a message (the other method of communicating here on HOMEGROWN, besides posting on someone's profile page) earlier today. Let me know if you have any trouble retrieving it, and I'll repost it here.
