I've been wanting to try these out for awhile - no luck finding free buckets and the Depot's were screaming to be used
Have you tried your local resturants? As a project of the Aiken Localvore, I am gathering my buckets from the resturants in our area. They are not recycled and end up in the trash. Some of the resturants rinse them out for me. Of course, once you start, don't stop. I am using my buckets (2 to a set like you are doing) to provide local at risk families with a simple one container "salad" or "root" garden for their use. This is the same concept/program provided by the Bucket Brigade in Washington state. We even use their labels for our buckets along with a contact label.
